The Industrial Musculoskeletal Injury Program (IMIRP) is a unique industry-wide approach to the reduction of musculoskeletal injuries (MSI's) in BC Sawmills. All 106 common industry jobs have been evaluated and assembled in 66 "Tool Kits". The Tool Kits, along with other IMIRP material provide the basis for a sawmill ergonomics program and are designed for implementation through the Joint Health and Safety Committee. The Tool Kits describe the job-specific risks of MSI's and provide suggested solutions to help prevent further injuries. The IMIRP is a partnership between COFI, the USW and the WCB, and is funded by the BC Sawmill Industry. |
